Posts Tagged “Wakayama Tomisaburo”

Hmmm…this site isn’t ready for primetime yet, but, since I’ve been memetagged, I will tag away (don’t break the chain, I hear Seinfeld whispering). Here goes:

First, here’s what tlg, who linked to me and writes this essential foodie blog, among many, many other things said:

I was tagged for a “Meme.” It窶冱 a 7 Random Things About Me.
Here are the rules: Link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
rule: Share seven random and/or weird things about yourself.
rule: Tag seven people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
rule: Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Okay, here goes:
1. I like my ramen noodles crunchy, not fully cooked. I do not know why.
2. I love Wakayama Tomisaburo. I have 30 of his movies, including Lone Wolf and Cub but also including more obscure series, like ‘Gokuaku Bozu’ and ‘Shokin Kasegi’ and the films he played in with his younger brother, Shintaro Katsu, the Blind Swordsmen, and the TV series, ‘The Mute Samurai’ (I sense a family pattern here…)ahem. perhaps this is odd enough so I could arguably stop here. However, I persevere…
3. I am not shy when it comes to writing to and meeting famous folks. Not sure this is random, but it is a thing. I only get in touch when I think it’s something worth their while and when their work has been important in my life, and I never, ever bug them with bullshit. I keep pretty quiet about it, too, which I think may inspire a level of trust…
4. I am realizing that, much as I love Wordpress, I can’t trust the Post software completely, and therefore I copy my post before I Save it, just in case. You might want to do the same. Talk about random.
5. I love reading about productivity stuff. I’m a huge fan of the noble jaw and productivity urgings of Merlin Mann Now I need to actually use my enormous store of lessons and be more productive.
6. I love the idea of playing squash, as I remember it from my much younger days. Perhaps I will play again someday.
7. I love the idea of playing chess. I was not good at it in any way at all.

Okay, back to being productive!

Here are the folks I am tagging:
1. NeoJaponisme - one of my favorite meta thinkers on Japanese popular culture
2. JeanSnow - I have known him since Pizzicato Five days - rich, savvy writing
3. Seron performs a public service, translating highlights of Japanese surveys
4. Baratunde: too, too funny, the Onion’s new web editor(congrats!) - since I can’t actually be Baratunde, I will spread the word
5. Angry Black Bitch - not safe for the youngsters, but one of the most insightful and inciteful writers out there on politics, race, and all things Vodka Crans
6. NihonHacks - great tips, and I’m linking to this one because I think I’ll get a bicycle bell for normal walking, too!
7. The Media Tinker is one of my best friends that I never see: it has been wonderful watching this blog grow, even from afar…and she sews a lovely skirt, she does!
bonus track:
8. Designer extraordinaire, and she brings the snark, regularly

whew! done. now back to productivity…

have a lovely day,

Terri
