So, I (finally?) signed up for the ‘universal feed aggreggator’ Friendfeed and they had this list of services that you can import into your Friendfeed account:

As I was reading the list, ticking off the ones I use/refused/have heard about/must check out, I wondered: what are the equivalent services in Japan, or related services, and/or services that take the same idea to the next level? I confess to a slight sense of jealousy of my bilingual friends, because they can choose to use the ones they like best, whether in Japanese or in English. But, since I stick to to the English language services, I am intensely curious about the others.

It’s feature envy!

I just read about Yack Track from Corvida’s Shegeeks, so I’m going to do my part as a human information filter, and say that…I like the idea, and will go on and sign up. update: not so much with the sign up - just use a blog post url and track manually…hmmm…

well, to what, exactly?

I had to stop and think about that: it’s not that I want people to follow my conversations that stem from this secret project because they’re my conversations. In fact, lately, I’ve been feeling a bit down, because I’m not naturally as good at constructive criticism as Corvida, or Tyme. And I do think that’s a skill I need to work on.

However they are there sharing what’s best about them, and I’m glad they’re doing it. And, what I share is serious good people-ishness: folks feel relaxed around me (generally) and so they feel there’s open space to speak. So, that’s what the secret project will capitalize on…other folks will bring the constructive criticism. It will be my job to bring the feel-good
